Brand & IP Policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
Capsules are great for brands — quizzes, scratch cards, product configurators. That is exactly why we need clear rules about using brands and other people's work. Breaking them can get a capsule removed and, if repeated, an account closed.
Brands, logos and products
- Only use a brand's name, logo, product images, or slogans if you are that brand or have its permission. This includes capsules that look like an official campaign, promotion, or giveaway.
- Don't imply that a brand made, sponsors, or endorses your capsule when it doesn't.
- Fair, clearly non-official references are fine — reviewing a product, a fan quiz that says it is unofficial, commentary or parody that nobody would mistake for the brand itself.
- Offering prizes, vouchers, or discounts in a brand's name requires that brand's authorization.
Characters, games, music and media
- Don't publish capsules built on someone else's characters, game, artwork, music, or footage (for example a copy of a well-known video game) unless you have the rights.
- Being AI-generated doesn't change this: if the output reproduces a protected character, logo, or work, the same rules apply.
- Make your own: original characters and your own twist on a genre (a maze-chase game, a trivia quiz) are always welcome.
Remixing
Remixing another creator's published capsule is allowed and credits the original. A remix doesn't give you rights the original creator didn't have: if the original used a brand without permission, your remix does too.
For brands and rights holders
If you believe a capsule uses your brand or work without permission, send a notice through our Notice & Takedown process. We act quickly on complete notices and close accounts of repeat infringers. Brands that want an official presence on Capsule can contact us to verify their account.
