Notice & Takedown

Anyone can tell us about content on Capsule that they believe is illegal or infringes their rights — you don't need an account. Signed-in users can also use Report in the capsule's ⋯ menu for anything that breaks our Terms.

How to send a notice

Email legal@thecapsuleapp.com with the subject “Takedown notice” and include:

• the link to each capsule, comment, or profile concerned (the share link works);
• why you believe it is illegal or infringing — for rights claims, which work, trademark, or right is affected and that you own it or act for the owner;
• your name and email address (you may stay anonymous only when reporting child sexual abuse material);
• a statement that you believe in good faith that the information in your notice is accurate and complete.

US copyright (DMCA) notices must additionally include your physical or electronic signature and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

What happens next

• We confirm receipt and review the notice promptly; urgent safety issues are handled first.
• If we remove or restrict the content, we tell the person who posted it what we did and why.
• We tell you the outcome of your notice.
• We close the accounts of repeat infringers.

If your content was removed

If you think we made a mistake, reply to our message or email legal@thecapsuleapp.com with the subject “Counter-notice”, the link to the removed content, and why it should be restored. For US copyright removals, a counter-notice must also include your name, address, and phone number, a statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was a mistake, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the relevant US federal court; we then forward it to the person who complained and may restore the content after 10 business days unless they start legal action.
